About the Band

MEHFIL has a love for authentic music. Over the past 5 years, we have dedicated ourselves to creating a sound that celebrates the tapestry of Punjabi music through the lens of first-generation Americans. We want our audiences to sit just a few feet away and feel the pluck of the mandolin, hit of the tabla, and strum of the guitar together in harmony; to experience an intimate live performance that is becoming more and more rare.

Performing everything from classics by Surinder Kaur, dance hits by Jazzy B, modern pop songs like Karan Aujla’s, we want to bridge the generational gap through music, introducing kids to their parents' music, and parents to their kids’ music.

Band members are Raja on vocals, Jashan on Mandolin, Kabir on Tabla/Esraj, and Palli on Guitar.
